Patrick is quite the character and full of personality! He's incredibly funny! Based on his color pattern and love of water (bathtubs and showers are fascinating to him!), we believe he is a Turkish Van mix. He loves toys and is an excellent toy hunter. He’s also very affectionate and loves attention!

Patrick came to NTCR from a shelter in S. Texas. He had been hit by car and his family brought him to the shelter to be euthanized. The shelter realized that surgery would be needed but wanted to give him a chance as he was incredibly sweet even in pain. We got Patrick as quickly as possible. He required a specialist/specialized surgery. He has pins in his hips, which will remain there for life. He’s completely recovered and ready for his forever home. You'd never know he was a bionic cat.

Patrick prefers head scratches to full body pets as he seems to have some residual sensitivity around his hips. This has dissipated over time, but he can still be sensitive to touch on his hips. He likes to be kissed on the nose and will push his face into his foster’s face for kisses. You can see this action in his photos. He also likes to follow his foster everywhere...he's really quite dog-like in that respect, wherever foster mom is, Patrick wants to go to. Are you looking for a bathroom buddy? Someone to assist you selecting your outfit for the day? Patrick is that cat for you!!

He is probably not an ideal match for a home with young kids – 1) because of his hip sensitivity and 2) he likes to love bite. We’re working on that and a strong “no” usually stops him, but he forgets these things. He has become better about sharing a home with other cats; however, if your cat is shy or a "push over", Patrick will not be a good match. Being a match with another cat is really dependent on the other cat's personality. Patrick would be quite happy to be an only cat. His foster doesn’t have dogs, however, based on his reaction to dogs at adoption events, he's likely not a great candidate for someone with dogs, but his foster can discuss it in more detail if you have dogs and are interested in Patrick. If you have questions about him, please reach out to NTCR.
